About the Widget. As seen in the image above, PAX offers search tabs, a search box and hit counters. Both the search tab and search box use JavaScript which will not work on WordPress.com. However, PAX provides a non-java option for the hit counters that will work perfectly with your WordPress.com blog.
What will Your Readers See on Your Site. The cool thing about PAX is that you can choose from a big selection of counters. You will certainly be able to select a counter that matches the colors and theme of your blog. Your will also be able to set the start count number to match the current visits of your site. Your readers will see the counter you chose, similar to the one seen here, on your sidebar or footer area (if your theme have footers).

How Do I Install This Widget on WordPress.com? Installing the PAX’s Hit Counter widget on your site is simple. First, get the HTML code from their site. Second, install the code on your blog. And, you are done. Please follow the instructions below.
Obtaining the Widget’s HTML Code
Step A – Visit Free Counter Page & Customize. First step is to visit the Free Counter page at PAX website. (CLICK HERE). Customize your hit counter. You can input the starting number of your counter. The starting number should match the current number of visits from your WordPress.com statistics page on your dashboard. Type in a title for your counter. Then select your counter style. There are a lot of counters styles to select from. You want to match the counter with your blog colors and theme. You can see how the counter will look inside the box on the right. Select if you want to count unique visitors to your site or page hits. When you select unique visitors, the counter increase every time a new visitor enters your site. The counter will increase by one no matter how many pages the visitor views. On the other hand, the page hits option will register every single page view from every visitors. That means if one visitor views 10 pages, the counter will increase by 10. When you finish customizing your hit counter, click the Register button.

Step B – Register with PAX. PAX requires you register with them before you receive the widget code. Insert the account information required. Insert your blog information in the space provided. You have already customized your counter so you can press the Register & Get Code button. You will see a message from PAX asking to verify your e-mail. You will need to open the e-mail sent by PAX and follow the link provided.

Step C – Copy the Hit Counter Code. The link provided in PAX’s e-mail will take you to a page showing a table with one hit counter listed (if this is the first time you create a PAX counter). Click at the Get Code button. You will land in the Code page. The most important action on this page is to check the non-script version box on the top right side of the code area. Once you select the non-script version, you can select and copy the HTML code provided.

Installing the Code on Your Blog
